What is Business Ethics?
Business ethics refers to the set of moral principles and values that guide the behaviour and decisions of a business and its employees. Just as an individual's character shapes how others perceive them, a company’s ethical standards play a crucial role in how it is viewed by customers, employees, investors, regulators, and the general public.
Business ethics go beyond profit-making. They encompass how a business interacts with its employees, customers, competitors, and government bodies. It includes policies regarding workplace conduct, transparency, environmental responsibility, social accountability, and corporate governance.
An organization’s ethical practices are often shaped by its founders, leadership, and internal policies. They help in creating a culture of integrity and fairness, enabling businesses to build strong relationships with stakeholders while contributing positively to society.
