Step-by-Step Process:
Visit NSDL’s PAN Application Section:
- Go to the official NSDL PAN application website.
- Choose the type of application:
- Form 49A (for Indian citizens)
- Form 49AA (for foreign citizens)
Select the Appropriate Category:
- Choose the relevant category such as Individual, Trust, Firm, etc.
Fill in Personal Details:
- Provide your full name, date of birth, email, mobile number, and captcha code. Submit the form.
Receive Token Number:
- After submitting your basic details, you will receive a token number.
- Click on ‘Continue with PAN Application Form.’
Fill in Additional Details:
- Complete the form with further details as required, similar to Form 49A or Form 49AA.
Document Submission:
- Choose your preferred document submission method:
- Physical submission
- Digital Signature Certificate (DSC)
- e-Sign with Aadhaar
Review and Submit:
- Double-check the entered information and submit the form.
Make Payment:
- Choose your payment method:
- Demand Draft (DD)
- Online Payment via Bill Desk (Net Banking, Credit/Debit Card)
Receive Acknowledgment:
- After successful payment, print the acknowledgment receipt.
- Attach two passport-size photographs (without stapling or clipping) and sign across one photo.
Send Documents:
- Send the acknowledgment receipt along with the required documents to Protean e-Gov Technologies Limited (NSDL) via post.
2. Apply via UTIITSL Website
Step-by-Step Process:
Visit UTIITSL’s Website:
- Go to the official UTIITSL website.
- Select the ‘New PAN’ option from the homepage.
Choose the Application Form:
- Select ‘Form 49A’ and fill in the required details, including name, date of birth, address, and contact details.
Make Payment:
- Pay the PAN application fee via:
- Online payment (Net Banking, Credit/Debit Card)
- Demand Draft payable at Mumbai.
Submit Documents:
- You can either send physical copies of documents to the UTIITSL office or use Aadhaar OTP for e-signing your form.
Receive PAN Card:
- After verification, your PAN card will be sent to your communication address within 15 days.
Charges for Applying for a PAN Card:

- Foreign Address: ₹864 + GST
